My editor brought me to lunch at Tai Tong when we had a photo shoot in AS Fortuna. I've passed that street a gazillion of times already but I've never heard or noticed that dimsum restaurant. I loved their food at first try so I wanted to bring the boyfriend there.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
At first glance, you wouldn't consider this a restaurant. It's just located right beside AA's Barbecue. The place is small with a few tables here and there. They have quite a number of dishes for a small restaurant which is great. They have different dimsum dishes as well as some chicken, noodle, ribs, and other food.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
What I like about the place is that they offer complimentary tea. I live tea and I love free stuff. So, there's no need to order drinks.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
We got ourselves pork steamed rice (P52), fried siopao (four pieces for P65), plain siomai (four pieces for P55), and kung pao chicken (P180).</div>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">plain siomai</td></tr>

<br />
Although their pork steamed rice doesn't have a big serving, I really liked the consistency of the sauce. It had mushrooms and the pork was cut into really small pieces, which I love. Their plain siomai is pretty much the same as others but it was really good.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I found their fried siopao quite interesting. Don't get me wrong, I like siopao, but when I first saw the fried ones I was a bit hesitant. However, fried siopao proved to be really yummy. It's now one of my favorite dimsum dishes.</div>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">kung pao chicken</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
We found their kung pao chicken a bit pricey. But I think it's enough for three to four persons. You'd know by now that I'm not really a chicken person, but I love their kung pao. It's spicy and flavorful. The chicken bits were fried perfectly.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Who would think that a small dimsum restaurant can have really yummy food? I was really amazed. I guess you should never judge a restaurant by its size or how it looks like from the outside. This truly is a must-try place for all the dimsum fans out there.;)<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
We ordered large Hokkaido (P105) and wintermelon milk tea (P105). I suggested the Hokkaido to the boyfriend since I've seen it featured a couple of times on TV. I ordered mine to try a usual milk tea flavor. Their Hokkaido tasted like a coffee and milk tea in one. I'm not really a fan of coffee so I didn't like it. Even the boyfriend disliked his own milk tea. Maybe those coffee lovers would enjoy Hokkaido. But, not us. Their wintermelon milk tea tasted like any shop's wintermelon. It was very much like Heart Tea's wintermelon. I just thought that Serrinitea was a bit pricey, being over 100 bucks.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
I was really expecting so much from Serrinitea. I've watched a couple of TV shows featuring their milk tea so I have always been intrigued on how their milk tea tastes like. I was disappointed that they were a bit expensive. Those who are coffee lovers and like the variety of milk teas that they offer, may enjoy their freshly brewed teas.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
UPDATE: Because of my day job, I was able to attend Serenitea's grand opening and meet the people behind Serenitea and the latest Cebu branch. They gave away free milk tea and a jumbo size at that. I got their Okinawa milk tea, which I expected to be a coffee-ish flavored tea, like Hokkaido. I was surprised that it was really good. It was creamy and sweet, just as I like it. I definitely loved their Okinawa milk tea. It was just difficult for me to finish everything up because of the size.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">

In three months time, they will also be offering some side dishes and snacks to clients , which is something I'd like to try soon.</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
Well, I'm not really a fan of Starbucks. Whenever I feel like having a frap or chilling in a coffee shop, the Starbucks in Ayala Center Cebu is always swelling with customers. I dislike crowded places. If you spot me in Strabucks, I would usually order the generic java chip frap or grab a bottle of Tazo. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
When I heard about this cotton candy frappuccino, which is a big hit online (more in Canada and the US), I vowed myself that I had to try it. I thought that it won't be available here in the Philippines.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-WrSus6Oifq0/UbhxdUaN_uI/AAAAAAAAByg/KwXYxiDuXGE/s1600/photo+(3).JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="298" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-WrSus6Oifq0/UbhxdUaN_uI/AAAAAAAAByg/KwXYxiDuXGE/s400/photo+(3).JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
So, I took the boyfriend to Starbucks after dinner yesterday and I got myself the cotton candy frap. The boyfriend, on the other hand, got his usual caramel frap. I can tell you that I was super excited when the barista said they can whip this for me.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Don't say you want a cotton candy frap because I'm sure they won't know. Do tell them you want a <b>vanilla creme frap with a pump of raspberry</b>. You would have to pay extra for the raspberry, though. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">cotton candy frap</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
I read in reviews that it really does taste like cotton candy. Mine wasn't as sweet as cotton candy, though. Maybe if I added one more pump of raspberry, it would be really sweet. My cotton candy frap tasted candy-ish, which was enough to satisfy my sugar craving. I'm just trying to whistle away the calories, like it never happened.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Cotton candy frappuccino is officially my favorite cold drink! I feel in love with the first sip. It's so heavenly! I'd definitely grab one again next time after eating healthy for a few days.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<i>P.S. Comment down below if you want more of these new Starbucks menu and if you're bored with the ones on the counter. I think I'm getting a hang of this. ;)</i></div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
The first time I went to <a href="https://www.facebook.com/pages/Pizzeria-Michelangelo-Philippines/126879214051667" target="_blank">Pizzeria Michaelangelo</a> was work related. I had to interview the general manager, Chef Massimo la Magna, for their ad. He offered us some dishes and they were really heavenly. We tried their pasta and pizza and they were both so flavorful. I then vowed to go back again and try their yummy pasta.<br />
<br />
So, I through of bringing the boyfriend with me to the restaurant next time. He's also a fan of pasta and I figured it would be a nice date.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-XCSHErBjVhU/Ua7V02NEmHI/AAAAAAAAByI/EiTEqH2WtFc/s1600/photo+(5).JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="476" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-XCSHErBjVhU/Ua7V02NEmHI/AAAAAAAAByI/EiTEqH2WtFc/s640/photo+(5).JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
When we got there, the place was empty. I guess we were too early for dinner. The staff attended to our needs right away. They were really nice and courteous. The ambiance was comfortable and cozy, as usual. I was glad that the boyfriend found the place charming. He's not really the type of person who's comfortable with posh places. So, I was really happy he liked the place.<br />

We ordered Alla Contadina (P250), Boscaiola (P290), pistachio gelato (P85), vanilla gelato (P85), and some Sola. I tried the Alla Contadina when I interviewed Chef Massimo. I really loved it. So, I wanted to try it again. The sauce is made to perfection. The tomato sauce and the herbs complement each other. There's a strong "herb" kind of flavor with every bite. But, it's just sooo good. The boyfriend's Boscaiola is really sumptuous. The white sauce was just creamy and yummy. The boyfriend definitely loved and enjoyed his food.<br />
<br />
I looove their gelato. It was delicious. Although the serving is a bit smaller than <a href="http://thesweettootheddiaries.blogspot.com/2011/11/gluttony-day-at-gelatissimo.html" target="_blank">Gelatissimo</a>'s, it was definitely enjoyable.Vanilla tasted just how it should be. It was creamy and had some bits of chocolate that made it even more good on the taste buds. My pistachio was just heavenly. I love pistachio and it was the best way to finish our sumptuous dinner.<br />

I would definitely go back to Michaelangelo, if I have the time. The food and service is really worth that short walk from the jeepney stop. It really is the best Italian restaurant in Cebu. Thanks to Chef Massimo for taking care of us and for the complimentary drinks, as well. :)</div>

I'm sure those who ride 04Ls have frequently passed by that small restaurant along the road in The Gallery. La Bella Napoli is inconspicuous and is a cozy place. I've wanted to try the restaurant for a long time, especially their Marigondon branch, but I've never had the time.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

<div style="text-align: justify;">
The boyfriend and I recently had a dinner date at<a href="https://www.facebook.com/pages/La-Bella-Napoli-CEBU/233042130067117?ref=ts&fref=ts" target="_blank"> La Bella Napoli</a> in The Gallery in search for a new pizza. We both love pizza and <a href="http://thesweettootheddiaries.blogspot.com/2012/04/ot-chill-out-at-handuraw.html" target="_blank">Handuraw</a> has always been our go-to place. This time, we wanted something new.</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
La Bella Napoli is known for their brick oven-baked pizza and their Italian cuisine. So, we didn't miss the opportunity to try their pizza. We ordered Pizza Capriciosa solo (P260), Penne Amatriciana (P220) and their lemon and vanilla gelato (P80 each).</div>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">a portion of Amatriciana</td></tr>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
Capriciosa was really good. It was baked well that you would want to eat the crust. Pizzas from brick ovens taste differently from the usual pizzas that are made from steel ovens. The tomato sauce and the toppings complemented well. The boyfriend exclaimed how good the pizza was and I could tell he really enjoyed it.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Penne Amatriciana is invigorating. I love that it wasn't too spicy and the sauce was also flavorful. Too bad, my doctor advised me to avoid spicy food. So, I was only able to eat a small portion of the Amatriciana. I actually wanted to eat more but I already had problems with my stomach. :(</div>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">vanilla gelato</td></tr>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
La Bella's vanilla gelato was really refreshing. I think it was good. It was the boyfriend's order, but I think I was the one who finished it up. The lemon gelato is interesting. It looked like ice but has a tangy taste once you start digging in. I just think their gelato is a bit icy compared to Gelatissimo. It was just like eating iced shavings or something. I enjoyed it, but the boyfriend said Gelatissimo is way better.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I really love the cozy and casual ambiance at La Bella Napoli. Their service is good and the staff are friendly. I think we also spotted the Italian owner there whiffing some pica-pica for the night since it was a Wine Appertive Thursday night. The boyfriend also loved the place and the food. We would definitely be back. ;)</div>

CMYK serves different desserts that will suit your taste buds. They also have
different foods to serve you which make them a good resto/café to stay in. We
felt like having desserts that night, so we ordered fube cake (P106), blueberry
deconstructed cheesecake (P90), letour (120) choco chip cookie (P45), green tea
frapp (P130), strawberry milkshake, (P130), and caramel fudge latte (P130).</div>

Their fube cake is
good but not something that I would rave about. The sweetness is just fine and
it’s really an ube-flavored cake. Their deconstructed cheesecake, on the other
hand, was just so-so. The shape and presentation was definitely interesting and
one-of-a-kind. I think it wasn’t that good because the cheesecake wasn’t that
chilled as expected. I found the chocolate chip cookie too hard to eat. I'm not sure if it's supposed to be that hard that my fork couldn't even break it. I didn't really enjoy it because of that. Letour is definitely my fave for that night. The
chocolate-y taste is really yummy. </div>

I was a little
disappointed with my strawberry milkshake. It didn’t really taste that
milkshake-y to me and it wasn’t that creamy. I did like green tea frapp. It was
just how matcha tastes like. It was also sweet and good. Caramel fudge latte is
okay. It had a light taste. To me, it was a bit lacking on the caramel flavor. Their
drinks are really ample and I think it’s really worth the price. Two people can
even share a single drink. It’s that big. I wasn’t able to finish my own
milkshake that night.</div>

I think CMYK is a
bit on the pricey side. Their servings are a bit small for the price, except
their drinks which were definitely huge. However, the place and the fast
internet connection work on their side. CMYK is a really good place to bring
your friends and chat. They have roomy chairs and comfortable ambiance that
makes you want to stay longer.</div>

I know you guys are well-aware of my love for milk tea. So, here’s another milk tea place that you should try. The boyfriend and I are in love with Jelly Citea. This tea shop is located in Raintree Mall. Don’t feel intimidated by the number of students in the place, because I think this proves that they got really good milk tea.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">sort of pay-as-you-use computers inside.</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
When we first went there, Jelly Citea was so packed that we had to sit outside. We didn’t mind really since we were just passing by. Those who want to hang out with friends inside might want to drop by around night time or weekends where there are fewer people.<br />
<br />
We got Paris (P90), as this was suggested by the attendant, and passion fruit milk tea (P70), my favorite tea flavor. I was a bit hesitant to try Paris despite the persuasive words of the Jelly Citea attendant, so I just picked a refreshing drink for that day. I had a bad experience with another shop so I wasn’t so sure it was a good idea. However, I was disappointed I didn’t listen to her. Paris was definitely good and is currently one of our new milk tea faves. Wintermelon blended perfectly with the cream cheese on top of the tea. The taste was just amazing. Their passion fruit milk tea was also good and very refreshing. It was just like how passion fruit is supposed to be. But, it wasn’t as yummy as Paris.<br />
<br />

<br />
<br />
On our next trip, we tried Tokyo (P90) which is another bestseller. This was matcha milk tea with cream cheese on top. It’s very green tea-ish and the flavor is really there. However, green tea with cream cheese isn’t really a good mix. Both were too strong for each other and wasn’t really a good combination. Other people might beg to differ, but it’s really not my cup (or plastic) of tea.<br />

I’m definitely looking forward to drop by Jelly Citea next time, and I also got their loyalty card. I’m glad that it’s conveniently located on the way to my office and too bad for the boyfriend who lives an island away. I fancy sipping on Paris. Maybe I will indulge myself on Monday. ;)</div>

<span style="text-indent: 0in;">I am in love with
milkshakes. I just don’t know why. Maybe it’s the sweet and creamy taste in
every sip. When I see milkshake on the menu, I just go gaga. So out of the
blue, we decided to create our own milkshake by watching vague and crazy how-to
videos in YouTube. It was more of a trial and error kind of thing. We didn’t
really know what we were doing.</span><br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-left: 0in; text-indent: 0in;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-left: 0in; text-indent: 0in;">
First off, you need
the right ingredients and a blender to mix them. You’ll need:</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-left: 0in; text-indent: 0in;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-left: .5in; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1;">
<br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-left: .5in; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1;">
<br /></div>
</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-left: 0in; text-indent: 0in;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-bXnG5EsSK9Y/UU7h5ucaVkI/AAAAAAAABsE/epzitM3vNrw/s1600/photo+(2).JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-bXnG5EsSK9Y/UU7h5ucaVkI/AAAAAAAABsE/epzitM3vNrw/s320/photo+(2).JPG" width="238" /></a></div>
<span style="text-indent: 0in;">-</span><span style="font-size: 7pt; text-indent: 0in;"> </span><span style="text-indent: 0in;">Milk (preferably fresh)</span><br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-left: .5in; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1;">
-<span style="font-size: 7pt;"> </span>Vanilla flavor</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-6T-Vpa8DGg0/UU7h6NcNWJI/AAAAAAAABsI/BEFjb37gfrU/s1600/photo+(1).JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="238" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-6T-Vpa8DGg0/UU7h6NcNWJI/AAAAAAAABsI/BEFjb37gfrU/s320/photo+(1).JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<span style="text-indent: 0in;">-</span><span style="font-size: 7pt; text-indent: 0in;"> </span><span style="text-indent: 0in;">Vanilla ice cream</span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-left: 0in; text-indent: 0in;">
<br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-left: .5in; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1;">
<br /></div>
<br />
Once you have all
the ingredients in tow, just mix all the ingredients in the blender. It was
really difficult for us to know the exact ratio for the ingredients. We
estimated the ratio for milk to the vanilla ice cream as 1:5. We realized that 1:1
is not really possible as this makes the milkshake too watery. More ice cream
would mean a thicker and creamier consistency. We limited vanilla flavor to a
teaspoon per serving. </div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-left: 0in; text-indent: 0in;">
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">finished product. ;)</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<span style="text-indent: 0in;">Although it was our first time, our little experiment actually tasted good enough. It was enough to satisfy our sugar cravings. We only thought that this experiment was a bit expensive, especially with the ice cream cost. It would be cheaper to order from a restaurant just like <a href="http://thesweettootheddiaries.blogspot.com/2012/11/ot-sams-50s-diner.html" target="_blank">Sam's Diner</a>'s yummy milkshake.</span><br />
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-left: 0in; text-indent: 0in;">
If you have
successfully made your own vanilla milkshake, please do comment on how you did
it. You can also tell us how we can make a better one next time. ;)</div>

<span style="text-align: justify;">I feel like I’m already so late with the new trends and new places in Cebu. This is the price I’ve got to pay for being too busy at work. Anyway, it’s been a couple of months since Surfin’ Ribs opened in the metro and they’ve already become one of the favorite spots of many Cebuanos for their ribs craving. The place is always packed with customers, which gives you more reasons not to miss it.</span></div>

My friends and I went to Surfin’ Ribs a few weeks back for dinner. It was my first time, unfortunately, even if the place is so close to my school. As expected, the restaurant was filled with hungry customers. We were lucky that we got a table for all of us right away.It was also no-brainer for us to order their famed Pete’s Ribs (P159), plus chili wings (130), and baked penne (P89). You can choose either the spicy ribs or the original one. You can also add side dishes which is great for those who want variety. </div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
You won’t be disappointed with their ribs because I know I’m not. It was very tender and every bite was flavorful. It’s no wonder why their ribs are sought after. Their baked penne was also good. The texture of pasta and corned beef was just right and it was tasted so well. I’m honestly not a fan of chicken, so I don’t really enjoy eating chicken dishes. Their chili wings are not really that spicy to suit my already-too-spicy palette. The chicken, however, is juicy and soft. I’m sure chicken fanatics would like it, as my dinner companions did. All of us enjoyed our meal and it was very filling. We went home filled with good conversation and good food.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I would definitely go back to Surfin’ Ribs again. Their food is reasonably priced and so tasty. It’s a good place to bring guy friends or female friends with manly appetites (like me). I think it’s a great place for barkadas (group of friends) and co-workers to eat out for dinner. I really love the place and I can’t wait to devour one of their Pete’s ribs again.</div>

<span style="text-align: justify;">Trying out new things is what I want to do this year, which includes trying out new restaurants is on the list (which I'm trying hard despite the busy schedule). So, it was great that the boyfriend found this interesting place that we could dine away from the crowd. <a href="https://www.facebook.com/frontgatecebu" target="_blank">Frontgate</a> is a teeny carenderia-ish restaurant found at MP Yap Street, near SHS-Hijas.</span><br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">

<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
We had to walk for less than five minutes from McDonald's Escario before we reached Frontgate. It doesn't look special or anything. The place reminded me of drinking <i>tambayans</i> (hangout place). It also had a Mexican-ish feel with the hats and the posters. The overall ambiance was a bit lacking though. However, the place was acceptable to me. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The boyfriend was really keen on their make-your-own burger a day before we went to Frontgate. However, he ended up ordering bacon mushroom melt, which is among their bestselling burgers. I ordered their curly fries, spaghetti meatball and nachos supreme since I didn't feel like having any burger. Their known for their make-your-own burger menu, which I'm sure the men would love. Unfortunately, I'm not so much of a burger fan. I've always been a carbo-loading type of gal.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I found their spaghetti just okay. It's not really that special. I was a bit disappointed that it didn't taste as expected. However, it was very filling. Their burger was just okay for me, too. The boyfriend, on the other hand, found it good. He was even able to finish the entire thing. Their fries was alright. It actually tastes like the ones you get from McDonald's.</div>

I did enjoy my vanilla milkshake and their nachos supreme. The milkshake didn't have any cherries unlike the ones I had at Sam's Diner nor was it as good as Sam's. But, I found it yummy and enough to fill in my sweet cravings for the day. Their nachos was definitely good. It was so filling and the ingredients tasted well. It lacked a bit of kick that I wanted, but it's really good. It's our new favorite from Frontgate.<br />
<br />
Overall, I was a bit disappointed with Frontgate. Maybe, I was just unlucky with my food choice. However, I think their meals are reasonably priced and are filling, especially if you are hungry. The boyfriend liked the dinner and so we went home so full.</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
I had the privilege to be invited to the thanksgiving dinner of MLhuillier Food Products, Inc at Pino Restaurant last Friday. Thanks to Dr. Nestor Alonso and Patty Taboada. I also met Michel and Amparito Lhuillier who were very kind and sweet. I felt a bit awkward myself shaking hands to such famous and big people in the country. They were so good-natured (and good looking, too) that you can't help but like them.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-G8VuFyyHZ7Q/UQpJXWte05I/AAAAAAAABnM/Rwe_OknNXaI/s1600/100_0418.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="432" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-G8VuFyyHZ7Q/UQpJXWte05I/AAAAAAAABnM/Rwe_OknNXaI/s640/100_0418.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
If you've been reading my blog for a long time, you'd know that I'm not really a fan of events. I'm too shy, even if I don't look like it. However, I was really glad that I went to the thanksgiving dinner because I met <a href="http://babeforfood.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">Justinne of Babe for Food</a> in person for the first time. Yay! Not only was I relieved, I was also happy to have found someone to talk to.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
MLhuillier Food Products, Inc produces and exports dried tropical fruits. They've been around since 1989 and only recently been certified by TUV SUD for GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) and HACCP (). This makes the company a globally-accredited business that makes them competitive worldwide. They are already exporting to 11 countries and are still trying to penetrate new markets. Señorito Michel was really happy to share the story of the company to the guests and of his own life story, too. He mentioned that they were all hardworking. It's really nice to hear stories of successful local companies and businesses because they not only bring money to the country; they also create more jobs for Filipinos.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-IDPuxVudPwQ/UQpJ3PtMQcI/AAAAAAAABns/EfbMJHuj0uQ/s1600/100_0422.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-IDPuxVudPwQ/UQpJ3PtMQcI/AAAAAAAABns/EfbMJHuj0uQ/s400/100_0422.JPG" width="345" /></a></div>
<br />
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
There was an after party at Labeled near Capitol and the guests were invited to join. However, I wasn't able to go thanks to my curfew. My aunt was already looking for me at 10:30PM so it was a signal that I had to head home pronto.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
What made me really happy were their products. They handed out samples of the products to us, media people, before we went out. Yay for free food! Honestly, I was really excited to try out their dried fruits, being a dried-mango fanatic myself. In the stash were dried mangoes, coconut, pineapple, papaya, mango-tamarind candies, and mango nectar juice.</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
I gave away some of the stash to the boyfriend and another friend, whom I met up a nearby restaurant. We ate the dried mango while waiting for their bill. We found it really good. The mangoes aren't too sweet. They were just the right taste. I really love it. I finished a pack on my own while snacking at home. Even my brother and aunt enjoyed the dried fruits that I brought home. My brother loved their dried pineapple. Another favorite, aside from dried mangoes, is the mango-tamarind candy. It's definitely good. I never imagined the two to compliment each other's distinct flavor.</div>

MLhuillier's products are available in different grocery stores in Cebu, like Rustan's. Robinson's. Gaisano Grand, Fooda, and other pasalubong centers in Mactan and Cebu. Price range for these yummy treats range from P10 to 100. </div>

"Gong Cha wish your girlfriend was hot like me," is what the boyfriend sang out when we first passed by the Gong Cha branch in SM City Cebu. It's pretty catchy, I must admit. Often, he would even sing it for the rest of the day while shopping in SM, which gives you an LSS.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I realized that we have to try Gong Cha, because it's a new milk tea place and there were many people lining up. We were able to order their milk tea, however, on the second time we passed by.<br />

Gong Cha is a Taiwanese brand that already has a steady stream of followers here in the Philippines. They already have many branches in the world. The branch in SM is Gong Cha Philippine's 19th branch.<br />
<br />
We got the Gong Cha Winter Melon Milk Tea, which is one of our ultimate milk tea flavors for every tea house in Cebu. It tastes just like the usual winter melon flavor. It reminded me of Heart Tea's own Wintermelon Milk Tea, which costs about half of Gong Cha's. I also wasn't impressed with their pearls. We found it too hard and a struggle to chew them all. I wasn't even able to finish all of my pearls.<br />

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Gong Cha's bestseller: House Special Milk Winter Melon Tea</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<br />
The next time we went back, we tried their bestseller which was the Gong Cha House Special Milk Winter Melon Tea. We weren't expecting much from it because we didn't really love their other milk tea. However, we were wrong. It was REALLY good. It tasted just right with the perfect sweetness and flavor in it. It's also refreshing with every sip. It was just like heaven. The boyfriend referred to it as being "raw." It's like your all the stresses inside you are relieved with every sip. It's now one of my most favorite milk teas here in Cebu and it's worth the money.<br />
<br />
Although Gong Cha is on the expensive spectrum among the tea houses in Cebu, I think some of their teas are worth the price, especially their bestseller. I can't wait to be back and order another Gong Cha House Special, but still the winter melon tea.<br />
<br />
Tell me what you think of Gong Cha's teas and comment below. :)</div>

It's funny that the boyfriend and I were like tourists during our short trip in Dumaguete City. Although I've been to Dumaguete countless of times, since my folks are currently living in Bayawan City, I've never been really knowledgeable with the streets in Dumaguete. So, when we spotted this little poster on the street that has cupcakes on it, I bugged my friend Nikki to take us there.</div>

<a href="https://www.facebook.com/pages/Poppy-Coffee-Cupcakes/199874613407656" target="_blank">Poppy's</a> is a dainty cafe at Silliman University's West Portal. You'll immediately see it before SU's entrance. They had a really nice and comfortable interior, which makes it great for students. A single cupcake at Poppy's costs P35. This is still more affordable compared to the usual cupcakes here in Cebu. Poppy's cupcakes reminded me of <a href="http://thesweettootheddiaries.blogspot.com/2012/04/short-and-sweet-at-sweet-little-things.html" target="_blank">SLT's</a>, which is by far my favorite. They have a number of different cupcakes available and their presentation was similar to that of SLT's.</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
We chose the blueberry and red velvet, which are our favorite flavors. Their cupcakes are really cute and looked so yummy. Poppy's cupcakes taste really good. However, it wasn't enough to wow me. It tastes good but not as good as the other cupcakes I've tried. Their icing is sweet and is just right. I think it would be best if the cupcakes were served chilled. Nevertheless, I like their cupcakes. It's really good for its price. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Unfortunately, the thing with Poppy's is that don't have their own toilet. You would have to climb up to West Portal's second floor to pee. It's a bit of hassle, to be honest, but it's better than nothing. Overall, Poppy's is a really interesting and nice cafe. Their staff is friendly and accommodating. I'll try to visit Poppy again next time I'm back in the city. Hopefully not when I'm too full to splurge on some sugar. Maybe, next time. :)</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
I've mentioned in a previous post that <a href="https://www.facebook.com/heartteamilktea?fref=ts" target="_blank">Heart Tea</a> was expecting a new change. So about a month ago, Frank of Heart Tea invited me and the boyfriend for their relaunching at GILT. There were also other bloggers and people from the media who were invited for the event. I was pretty much excited for this relaunch since Heart Tea will be re-branding and they will offer new flavors. Yay!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
GILT is a really pretty and interesting place. The boyfriend and I were conversing about the decors and design. We both love vintage items and decors and the place was filled with them. We couldn't help but take pictures of their interesting knickknacks here and there. Their food was also yummy! During the relaunch I met JM of Big Food (now my Tasteful Life), along with other bloggers in Cebu.</div>

<span style="text-align: justify;">Frank announced that Heart Tea is already offering new popping bobbas to add to their menu. They have cranberry, blueberry, mango, and orange among other bobbas. We were given samples of the popping bobbas and I tell you, they were yummy. I love the blueberry popping bobba with the wintermelon. Frank also mentioned they have other flavors, like caramel and others, which are still on the way.</span><br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
A few days after the relaunch, the boyfriend and I visited Heart Tea in IT Park and I really like their new stall. The boyfriend and I both got wintermelon (Yay!) with different sinkers. I got the cranberry bobbas, since they don't have the blueberry. The boyfriend, on the other hand, got his orange popping bobbas. Cranberry gives you a fruity pop, which I really like. I think it works well with the wintermelon and is not that overpowering. The orange is also interesting and the boyfriend really enjoyed his share of milk tea. The orange bobbas had a tangy flavor after every pop, which would definitely make you feel alive.</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
Being travelers in Dumaguete City, the boyfriend and I were looking for some affordable treats. So, we went to Lee Plaza where you can find a milk tea place in Dumaguete. Unfortunately we didn't really know the exact location of the cart so we went through every floor before we realized that it's probably near the grocery.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-jdnGrSwmZoY/UM29q13GLCI/AAAAAAAABfw/ahp4e2Q4reI/s1600/20121018_111532.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="313" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-jdnGrSwmZoY/UM29q13GLCI/AAAAAAAABfw/ahp4e2Q4reI/s400/20121018_111532.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<span id="goog_1841580823"></span>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
So, we did find Bubble Pop at the lower ground floor of Lee Plaza along with the other food carts. We were also surprised to find a cupcake stall, Sweet Indulgence, there. Unfortunately, there weren't chairs. You would have to stand up and place your food and drinks in a high table while eating.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Bubble Pop is really affordable, unlike most milk tea shops here in Cebu. They also have limited flavors, which isn't really a big deal. The boyfriend and I got honeydew and wintermelon milk tea for P48. Just P2 cheaper than Heart Tea's. Their milk tea was good but not really that good enough for you to rave. However, I think it's okay for the price that you are paying. I also noticed that they were using powdered milk teas more, instead of syrup, which probably is the reason why it wasn't that good.</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
Sweet Indulgence was also shockingly affordable. Every cupcake costs P25, which is half the price of the usual cupcakes here in Cebu. I tell you, the boyfriend and I went on sugar high because all the sweet goodies were budget-friendly. We ordered red velvet and tiramisu from Sweet Indulgence and paired it with our milk teas. I really love the icing on top of the red velvet. It was sweet and yummy. The boyfriend, however, found it to be overpowering. Their tiramisu was also good and soft. I like the the texture of the cupcake. Their cupcakes were really good enough for their price. However, they're not really something that I would rave about.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I definitely enjoyed our short food trip in Dumaguete. Unfortunately we were a bit limited with funds and time so we weren't able to look for more cheap finds in the city. The boyfriend and I are planning to have another food trip in the city soon, when budget permits. Dumaguete is definitely more affordable compared to the usual restaurants and shops in Cebu, which makes it great for foodies like us. ;)</div>

There's a little haven in Dumaguete that will take you to Italy without having to pay for the pricey airfare. This haven is called Gabby's Bistro. You can find Gabby's in Florentina Homes, which is like Italy. They have colorful walls and porches with flowers. My friend, Nikki, and I have been planning to go there last June when I visited Negros, but I never had the time. This time, I figured I have to visit Gabby's no matter what.<br />

Their interiors is really cool and filled with cutesy little knickknacks everywhere. There are planes on the ceiling and mini gas pumps on their tables. Their walls have intricate details. I wasn't able to hold myself as I gaze every wall and ceiling. It is a really happy place. The interior was consistent with the exterior design. I so looove the place. What sparked my interest was that their paper placemats can be colored. You can even ask for crayons. Nikki and I hurriedly colored and wrote stuff on our own placemats. You can get yourself busy while waiting for your meals. It's also great for kids.<br />

We got dory in tomatoes (I'm not quite sure if that's the correct name) and golden chicken. We were shocked that they had big servings. Even their rice servings are bigger than those I commonly see in restaurants here in Cebu. I definitely enjoyed my dory. It was soft and the tomato was perfect with it. I even felt the rice on my plate wasn't enough. The chicken was also delicious and tender. I love how generous they were with their side dishes. Their prices are reasonable for the size of their serving. You'll definitely be full after your meal and it's totally worth it.<br />
<br />
Their staff were also nice and friendly. They are also accommodating which I really like. They, however, take time to serve you. The good thing is they have bells on tables, which you can use to ring the staff when you're ready to order.<br />

<div style="text-align: justify;">
I've written a post about Sans Rival, a famous pastry shop in Dumaguete City, last year. However, that was about the <a href="http://thesweettootheddiaries.blogspot.com/2011/06/sans-rival-side-trip-to-second-home.html" target="_blank">Sans Rival branch in Robinsons Place Dumaguete</a>. I've always wanted to visit the Sans Rival main branch and last month, I just did that. I had a short vacation in Negros last month and decided that I shouldn't miss going to Sans Rival main branch, especially when it was the boyfriend's first time in Negros. We went there together with my friend Nikki and her boyfriend, Jano. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Sans Rival looks like a quaint cafe. It is located near Dumaguete's boulevard. You can ask the tricycle driver to take you to Sans Rival near the boulevard if you don't know the place. What we did was walk down the boulevard strip to find to look for Sans Rival since we don't know it's exact location.</div>

They have pasta and other quick meals for merienda (snacks). If you're bringing some pasalubong for family and friends back home, you can ask their staff for the frozen silvanas which is good for a six-hour travel. You can get a box of silvanas, with 10 pieces, for P110. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br />
When we got there, we ordered red velvet cake, blueberry cheesecake, spaghetti, burger, and some silvanas. Sans Rival is definitely affordable. I'm sorry I forgot the prices, I forgot where I placed the receipt. Anyway, their cakes are super affordable and cheaper compared to the cakes here in Cebu. My schoolmate even thinks the same way.<br />

<br />
Their cakes are good, however, not too good that you'll go crazy for them. They are good for their affordable price. The same thing goes for their burger and their spaghetti. However, their silvanas and Sans Rival butter aren't to be missed. These are my ultimate faves from Sans Rival.<br />
<br />
If you're visiting the main branch, be prepared for the long queue of customers. Even when you're there in the morning, there are lots of people there for their coffee or for some pastries. However, this is to be expected since they have a lot of loyal customers.<br />
<br />
I also like the homey ambiance of the cafe. The place is just comfortable and perfect for a little chat with friends. We'll definitely be back on our next Negros trip and I hope we can already try the new bistro, as well. :)</div>

We got their Philly cheese steak (P130), Sam's special with fries (P125), sizzling burger steak (P65), vanilla milkshake (P95), and apple cobbler (P75).</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The Sam's special (burger) was really good. The boyfriend was raving how good it was for its price. The Philly cheese steak was also good. The cheese didn't overwhelm the mushrooms and beef in the sandwich. It all worked well and had a great taste. I couldn't finish it all by myself, though which is a shame. The burger steak is delicious and tender. Their sauce was unique and added an interesting taste to the steak. Their milkshake was definitely my favorite. It was really sweet and yummy. A glass wasn't enough for me, though. A part of me wished milkshakes came in a liter, just like Coke. Their apple cobbler was also good and a nice way to end a sumptuous meal. It was definitely really sweet, sadly too much for my taste even. But it was really cinnamon-y and has a kick to it.</div>

I really love the fact that their theme is very consistent. Their chairs, decors, and their tissue holder are all vintage. Their songs are even from the 50s. What amazed me was their sink, for washing your hands, is also vintage. The place is definitely cool. It would be even awesome to have lunch here frequently.</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
What do you do when you're stuck at CDUH due to heavy rains? Head on to Macaron Tango Cafe. You can find this little French cafe at the Centero Arcade along Osmeña Boulevard near Capitol. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
This is an a cafe that boasts its authentic French pastries and dishes ( and is owned by a real French). We even saw him baking some macarons while we ordered (and he smiled at us).</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br />
I've heard of the place a way back but never had the chance to try them. I was really glad I thought of dropping by the place while the boyfriend and I were stuck.</div>

So, we got ourselves a slice of blueberry cheesecake (P90), pistachio and berry medley macaron (P40 each) and some hot cup of tea (P40 each). </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Their blueberry cheesecake is definitely heavenly. This is by far the best cheesecake we (the boyfriend and I) have tasted so far. I can tell you that the boyfriend is already in love with the place because of their yummy cheesecake. Even if their cheesecake is a bit pricey, it's definitely worth it. Every bite is so creamy. Did I tell you it's heavenly?</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<span id="goog_1393925473"></span><span id="goog_1393925474"></span><br />
<br />
Their macarons were really yummy. You can definitely taste the flavors in your macarons. The berry medley was certainly very berry and the pistachio was nutty. They are just perfect with my hot tea. I actually wanted to try all of their macarons. It was just too hard to choose with their cute colors.<br />
<br />
Macaron Tango Cafe can be a great place to study. We noticed there weren't much people inside the cafe, aside from two other customers. You can also do your projects here, as they have fast internet connection. I have a friend in college who made most of her thesis while sitting and eating in the cafe (you know who you are!:P ).<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-mPCwe-AUlwI/UIVR0obS_yI/AAAAAAAABP4/2BhvVWldlII/s1600/100_0309.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="454" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-mPCwe-AUlwI/UIVR0obS_yI/AAAAAAAABP4/2BhvVWldlII/s640/100_0309.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I think the boyfriend and I will be back here soon to have some more of their blueberry cheesecake. I'll also be trying more of their macarons, too. Even if Tango is a bit pricey, they are definitely worth every cent.</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<i>Before I start this post, I think saying sorry to you guys would be in place. I'm really sorry if I haven't updated the blog for a couple of weeks now. I've been a bit busy with school (since I'm trying to graduate). Now that I'm done with school, I can now start eating my heart out (while looking for a new job).</i></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Back to Chatime. This international tea franchise is already in Cebu. So after submitting my papers for finals a few days ago, the boyfriend and I headed to Chatime in Ebloc 2, IT Park. We actually got lost before we found our way. Anyway, we were surprised to see many people inside Chatime. You'd know by now that I'm not that comfortable with crowded places. However, at least we got the comfortable couch and table when we were there.</div>
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">red bean tea and pearl milk tea.</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<br />

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">parmesan French fries</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Chatime really had a wide variety of milk tea choices. It was a bit difficult to choose, so I decided to go for their pearl milk tea (P90). The boyfriend, meanwhile, got himself a red bean tea (P100). We opted to pair our drinks with Parmesan-flavored fries (P65). Their pearl milk tea was yummy but nothing really special. It's just like other pearl milk tea from other tea places. Their red bean tea was definitely interesting. The red beans in the drink added texture to the tea. However, it wasn't something that I would love. The boyfriend, however, enjoyed his tea. Their parmesan fries was interesting, but not that yummy to me.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I couldn't really say that Chatime is different from other tea places, yet. So far, I think their tea is just similar to other shops. They do have a wide variety of interesting teas on their menu that I've yet to try. </div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
I really like the colors and the interiors of Chatime. It's really colorful and fun. Their couches are just so comfortable. What's more is that they have plugs that you can use for charging your laptop or other mobile devices. They also have Wi-Fi. Say hello to a new place for thesis and group projects!<br />
<br />
The only thing that irritated me during our visit was the crew saying "Welcome to Chatime!" over and over again to every customer who ordered. It is nice, especially when you enter and take your order. However, when you stay inside the shop for an hour or so, you'd get a bit annoyed with this line. The boyfriend even had an LSS and repeated the line again and again while we were strolling in Ayala. I wonder if they get tired saying that x number of times in a day.</div>

Although Chatime is a bit pricey, I know I'll be back with some friends soon. I'm eyeing on their passionfruit milk tea for my next trip.</div>

I wouldn't miss a new cupcake store for anything. Well, except when something comes up. But when I heard that <a href="https://www.facebook.com/cupcakesbyphoebe" target="_blank">Phoebe's Cupcakery</a> will be opening real soon, I could't resist. Who can with all those floral-colored walls paired with yummy cupcakes?<br />
<br />
So, I dragged along the boyfriend for some yummy cupcakes at Phoebe's. I really have no idea where their store was except it was located in Maria Luisa Road. We had to do some walking to look for the store. It was quite an adventure. Then we saw the purple cupcake store and knew we're at the right place.<br />

I must say that Phoebe's Cupcakery was like made out of a dollhouse. They have quirky floral teacups on the wall. They also have floral wallpaper and seats. The store has a purple theme with purple chandeliers and flowers all over. I felt like I was in a dollhouse, or better yet in a Victorian parlor.<br />
<br />
When we got in, there were already customers inside. It was quite obvious that they were enjoying their cupcakes. So, we ordered for ours. We got scarlette (red velvet!), cookie monster and.choco hazelnut We got Sola for our drinks.<br />

All of Phoebe's cupcakes were definitely yummy! My favorite was the choco hazelnut. It was just the right sweetness for me. The cupcakes were soft and the icing have the right sweetness. They were so perfect. I left Phoebe's with happy taste buds and a filled stomach.<br />
<br />
I can't wait to go back to Phoebe's really soon to try more of their cupcakes.<br />

<div style="text-align: justify;">
I met up with Frank of <a href="https://www.facebook.com/heartteamilktea" target="_blank">Heart Tea</a> two weeks ago to get to know more about Heart Tea. Sorry for the late post! It was really nice to talk to someone who could really provide good information about how the entire venture started. I've been to Heart Tea once, a few months back, but I wasn't really able to taste much of their drinks. You can read my entry <a href="http://thesweettootheddiaries.blogspot.com/2012/06/heart-tea-tea.html" target="_blank">here</a>.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/--CU90AXkPh8/UEiq527e3zI/AAAAAAAABHU/D43GVzabt2s/s1600/100_0266-2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/--CU90AXkPh8/UEiq527e3zI/AAAAAAAABHU/D43GVzabt2s/s400/100_0266-2.jpg" width="230" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Wintermelon. Are you ready for what's coming?</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Frank, one of the owners of Heart Tea, is a tea enthusiast himself. Having heard of the booming tea fad in Manila, he and his wife did more research about the different teas in Taiwan. They even sourced their ingredients directly from Taiwan. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Heart Tea was inspired by tea, being a hearty drink. Tapioca, Coffee Konjac, and Wintermelon are among their bestsellers. Take note that Winternelon does not have sinkers or tapioca so you'll have to add one to your drink. Tapioca and other drinks have sinkers, though. But, it pays to ask the attendant if the drink already has sinkers. Frank mentioned that they themselves created their own milk tea drinks, which makes them different. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br />
I would have to agree with Frank. Their wintermelon taste really different compared to other stores. Frank said that their own version does not have an overpowering aftertaste. Their wintermelon is good to go even without the tapioca.<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-EtecGSOovR8/UEiq-nd6zsI/AAAAAAAABHc/oTp-mthmKr0/s1600/100_0271.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="265" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-EtecGSOovR8/UEiq-nd6zsI/AAAAAAAABHc/oTp-mthmKr0/s400/100_0271.jpg" width="400" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">the red ones are the strawberry balls</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
They also have these fun strawberry burst balls that you can add to your drinks. This is Frank's favorite. He says this is like <a href="http://thesweettootheddiaries.blogspot.com/2012/01/cobo-new-tea-in-town.html" target="_blank">Cobo's</a> but does not pop right away. You'll have to put your teeth on the balls to make them pop or burst which adds to the fun.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Basil health drink is a drink that's unique to Heart Tea (in Cebu). This drink has basil seeds that is great for losing weight. Frank suggested to consume the basil health drink after gym. It really is a filling drink. I even didn't feel hungry after drinking basil. The seeds are also fun to chew, well I had fun.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-RzzT1cVRdPE/UEirCyG7h7I/AAAAAAAABHk/5Kb1oi1zJqU/s1600/100_0282.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-RzzT1cVRdPE/UEirCyG7h7I/AAAAAAAABHk/5Kb1oi1zJqU/s400/100_0282.jpg" width="340" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">the white stuff at the bottom are the basil seeds. :)</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
One of the things that make Heart Tea different from the rest is that their drinks are can be personalized for no extra charge. Frank noted that customers can ask their attendants to customize their drinks. One can choose to add more tea and lessen the fructose or vice versa. You can ask them to add more dairy, if you want. Other tea places only let customers customize the sweetness levels.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Heart Tea has three branches, as of the moment. They can be found in IT Park (besides Krispy Kreme), Cebu Doctor's University, and inside Convergys. Frank confided that they are planning to expand the business and clients can expect more branches. The most exciting part about our talk is the upcoming changes in Heart Tea. Clients can anticipate for a better Heart Tea with even better teas and other things to offer. They are reopening this September and I'm also quite excited the new changes.</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
The Corner Bakery is a cute bakery in Mabolo. It's not really something that one can pass by on a regular basis since you'd have to do a bit pf walking to get there, unless you have your own ride. It's a small cafe but filled with different pastries and desserts.</div>
<br />

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The place reminded me of the small stalls in Paris. Their tables and seats also reminded me of Paris cafes. Even if it's not located beside the main road, this little cafe has a steady stream of customers and many patrons. There were many people who dropped by the Corner Bakery while we were there.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
We got ourselves a red velvet cupcake, red velvet cheesecake, blueberry cheesecake and green tea chocolate. You'd know by now that I'm in love with anything red velvet. So I'd have to try theirs. Their products are also reasonably priced which is good. They also serve iced service water to drown all that sweetness. Yay to that!</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Their red velvet wasn't as yummy as I expected but it was really good. The same goes with their red velvet cheesecake. I can't point it out but there's just something missing. Their blueberry cheesecake was definitely yummy. You can really taste the cheese in every bite. It was really good. I did like their green tea chocolate. It tasted a bit weird but it was definitely yummy. It really is like matcha in your chocolate. It was one of the most interesting chocolates I've ever tasted.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Probably, the only thing I could comment on is their service. They have this one attendant who was not really that accommodating and made me feel like we shouldn't have gone there. However, all that negativity was compensated by the other attendant who cheerfully brought us water. I hope I that negative attendant won't serve us next time.

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I would definitely be back to Corner Bakery really soon so I can try their other pastries and desserts. I heard that they serve really good pizza and bolognese as well, so I might try that on my next trip.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
A series of stressful days brought me and the boyfriend to Llew's Mudpies again. The last time we visited (read <a href="http://thesweettootheddiaries.blogspot.com/2012/07/llews-mudpies.html" target="_blank">here</a>), we failed to try their famous s'mores. We realized we missed half of our lives. So we took the opportunity to taste their s'mores.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Llew's s'mores only cost P25 each. That's for both warm and cold s'mores. It's really affordable and fits a student's budget well. They have different flavors for their cold s'mores, like pistachio, vanilla, and others. Unfortunately, they only had choco mint at that time. So, we contented ourselves to choco mint cold s'mores.<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">hot s'mores. (sorry it's out of focus.)</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<br />
I really like their s'mores, both the hot and the cold one. I really love munching the cold s'mores. It's really yummy and filling. You could also really taste the ice cream flavor in between the graham crackers. It also blends well with the graham cracker. With the hot s'mores, you could really taste the chocolate and marshmallows. It really is yummy! Before, I couldn't really get it why people would look like a mess while eating s'mores. I now get it.<br />

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">HAHAHAHAHA.</td></tr>

<br />
I think their s'mores has gotten into me since I've been thinking of s'mores lately. I've been wanting to make my own. Maybe I just will. ;) I'll definitely be back, Llew's.</div>

On a cold Sunday afternoon (after my cousin's garden wedding) while watching Discovery Channel in Kasadya Cordova, I suddenly got hungry and decided to take my cousin (and her boyfriend) to <a href="https://www.facebook.com/LantawFloatingNativeRestaurant?ref=ts" target="_blank">Lantaw</a> which was just a few minutes away from Kasadya.<br />

You can find Lantaw at Day-as Wharf in Cordova. We discovered Lantaw when the boyfriend and I went shooting at Day-as during sunset (for my photography class' homework). We just looked at Lantaw though, and took pictures of the place. The restaurant is made entirely of bamboo and cogon. It reminds me of our little hut in Negros.<br />
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Their service is really nice. When you enter the restaurant you'll be greeted warmly by their receptionist in Cebuano. The rest of the crew were courteous and helpful. They were ready to assist you whenever you need help.<br />
<br />

<br />
<br />
What I like about Lantaw is they have really nice interiors. They have the front end of the jeepney peeking near their cash register which is really cool. You can pose in front if you want. They also have another part of the restaurant which had couches and tables where you can lounge while eating. Unfortunately, it was raining that day so they had to close that part and stack the couches. What was really interesting in Lantaw is that they serve mayo bottles as water glasses. It's really cool and environment friendly.<br />

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">sisig (P130)</td></tr>

We got adobong kangkong, pinakbet, sisig, lechon kawali and a couple of drinks to top that rainy afternoon. The price for their food were reasonable. Most of their serving were good for two to three persons. The lechon kawali was a bit small, though even for its price. This was why we added the sisig to our table.<br />
<br />
I loved everything that they served in Lantaw. Everything was cooked properly and had a great taste. My adobong kankong was really yummy. I couldn't find anything to say about the taste. The sisig and the lechon kawala lacked the kick and the spiciness that we wanted. These were also good, but it wasn't spicy enough for us.<br />
<br />
When we were about to head home, our male companions came out happy and grinning from the male toilet. We had to ask why. They said there were photos of funny store names and errors posted in their toilet. We went to the women's too, but found none. So the boyfriend took photos and shared it to us. We ended up smiling from ear to ear while going through the different photos.<br />

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">some of their funny photos. there are too many of these.</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
My cousin and I are planning to head there again soon when the weather's right so we can watch the sunset and city lights from Lantaw. It was just a bit disappointing that the weather wasn't really cooperating with us that day. Nevertheless, it was a really nice experience.<br />

<br />
Lantaw is a bit far from the city which makes it a really nice restaurant to unwind. If you plan on commuting to Lantaw, just ride a jeepney to Cordova and ask the driver to stop you at Poblacion in Cordova. Once you see a pedicab, ask him to get you to Day-as Wharf. You have to pay P1 per person when you get to the wharf. </div>
